SPE Contracting are one of the largest companies in the United Kingdom specialising in dust free surface preparation. Our clients range from those within the petrochemical industry to retail, industrial, construction, manufacturing, educational and public sectors (highways and walkways) throughout the UK, Europe and other world wide locations.

With over 100 years staff collective experience and a vast financial investment in plant and machinery, our company has gained a reputation of excellence in management, performance and execution in our client projects. Our portfolio of works and experience has increased exponentially over the 30 plus years we have been in operation; and when necessary we have developed our own bespoke solutions for client projects to meet client needs and often exceed their expectations.

Steel, concrete and asphalt are surfaces we regularly come into contact with; captive shot blasting, diamond grinding, planing / milling, and surface stripping (to remove carpet, tile, woodblock etc.) are some of the processes we use on a daily basis with an emphasis on being a friend to the environment.

SPE Contracting Ltd. began as a division in our now parent company SPE International Ltd. in 1983. In the early days a great deal of focus was involved in the development of a very efficient and versatile walk behind captive shot blasting machine. The result was the SPE 20ES – one of the first 20″ dust free shot blasting machines – still manufactured and used throughout the world to this day.

This captive (dust free) process quickly became recognised for its speed, safety and efficiency in cleaning / texturising steel and concrete with minimal cleanup, and much less impact on the environment. SPE continued this development process, adpating other types of machines to capitalise on the dust free process; and as the company expanded it became evident that to focus on the differing client bases involved in the manufacturing and contracting divisions more effectively it would be more efficient to seperate the entities. And so the birth of SPE Contracting Ltd.
